About Me
A story about mistakes, stability, and learning how money really works.
Hi there, my name is Omar.
At one point in my life I had $20,000 saved and still felt financially unstable.
Today I sometimes finish the day covered in dust from cleaning vents — and I feel more financially stable than ever.
The purpose of The Stability Engine is simple:
to share the financial experiences I’ve lived through — both the good and the bad.
The mistakes and the wins.
The bad results and the good ones.
Why?
Because I wouldn’t wish the constant stress and mental chaos I lived with for years on anyone.
The worst part is that at the time, I didn’t even realize I was living like that.
I thought it was normal.
I believed that constant stress about money, comparison with others, and feeling behind in life were just part of adulthood.
Looking back now, I realize something important.
A big part of my problem wasn’t only money.
It was envy, comparison, and self-sabotage.
I knew I struggled with self-sabotage. I could see that clearly.
What I didn’t realize was how much envy and comparison were silently shaping my decisions and emotions every day.
That combination made it very difficult to move forward financially or personally.
Why am I telling you this?
What does this have to do with budgeting or money?
Everything.
Because financial instability rarely exists by itself.
It is usually connected to our habits, our emotions, and the way we see ourselves.
That’s why this website is not only about numbers.
It’s about building stability.
The Two Pictures

There are two photos of me on this page.
In one photo, I am wearing a suit.
In the other photo, I am holding a dirty cleaning rag after working on a vent.
Most people would probably assume the successful version of me is the one wearing the suit.
But the truth is the opposite.
The man holding the dirty rag is the best version of myself so far.
Today I feel grateful for what I have.
I have more than I truly need.
I have an emergency fund covering several months of expenses.
I have money set aside to enjoy life.
And I invest consistently every week.
I didn’t start rich.
I started with $0.
The Lesson
At another point in my life, I actually started with $20,000.
And I managed to bring it all the way down to $0.
What happened?
I had money, but I didn’t have control.
I had income, but I didn’t have stability.
That experience taught me something important:
Money alone does not create stability.
Systems do.
Habits do.
Clarity does.
Invisible Wealth
In The Psychology of Money, Morgan Housel explains that true wealth is invisible.
It’s not always the car someone drives or the clothes they wear.
Sometimes it looks like a person quietly working, building stability step by step.
I guess I became one small example of that idea.
And that’s exactly what The Stability Engine is about.
